Another six months gone and my girl is a year old today. Even if I want to express my joy writing that she has grown up to a toddler I feel a hidden pain inside. Every month I see a bit of my motherhood going away. Sometimes by acknowledging she no longer needs baby milk, sometimes by perceiving she can now stand without my support. Sometimes by seeing she can hold her bottle on her own other times by knowing she can now play and explore free and wild.

The baby duffel bag is getting empty and the light weight of it is telling me that this too shall be be forgotten and tossed away in a corner. I will be able to wear heels and carry my fave handbags again. I will be able to wear necklace and keep my hair untied. I will be able to do hundred things again but will the joy be the same?? or will it be a constant reminder that once upon a time I used to carry someone so close to me. I guess i will surely miss the pulling of my hair strands, collar buttons, the snatching of earrings and spewing on my sleeves. Ah! the list goes on.

Before I start missing another zillion things I must celebrate her year of first. Our sweet girl turned one in August last year, and I wanted to do an inexpensive DIY cake smash and first birthday shoot, so I scoured Pinterest for ideas! Since cake smash sessions can be pretty expensive I decided to do it myself and save some money. Don’t be afraid to have your own photo shoots and cake smashes with your babes!! It’s nice to have the professional first birthday pictures, but if you don’t have the extra money to spend, you can totally do it yourself and make it amazing! Whatever you chose to do, it will be so special. I brought a full size cake from Kroger's and sprinkled it all over like I did on her six months birthday cake. (Oh! the memory washed me in nostalgia when we were celebrating her half birthday with half cake and she could barely sit up or move).

I was little curious how will she react to a cake? Will she just ignore it, get scared or be clueless seeing a puddle of cream and crumbs. Instead we were surprised to see her digging into the cake and gobble up handful of calories!! The fun part was to enjoy her expressions as she smashed and licked the frosty disaster. She created a beautiful mess!!

Happy birthday Anika.

We celebrate everything about you and love you one hundred red M&Ms.

Living in Buckhead is not only fun around but every weekend you can entertain yourself with countless restaurants around. Grabbing our late afternoon coffee me and Ani drove a little around the Buckhead shopping place and halt at the attractive board calling for foodies and holiday brunch. Yes it is a big 'Y' Yebo Beach Haus. There is a valet parking and hassle free we settled ourselves inside the restaurant.

While hot pink flamingo displays danced on the trimmed lawn a vintage Italian brand, Vespa Piaggio scooty adorn the entrance. Really a place you cannot avoid looking around more and more. I am here usually for a good dessert and lot of good drinks. Saturday evening i keep my belly empty for this only ending up with a midnight local pizza.

Glad the place was less crowded for which we felt blessed but doubtful how come that too on Saturday?

Look at my plate, comes my bon fire chocolate cake!  I have been hearing about it a lot through instagram, dark lava cake topped with cool vanilla dollops and finally today i am gobbling it guilt free.

Ani order a drink which surprised us even more with a pineapple shaped drinking bowl. Great as the presentation i totally enjoyed the flavor of Jeffery's bay. I recommend On leave drink too from beverage section. I could have drank all night if only the bill was not shooting up since each drink was an elixir, you cannot end up having just once.

And what are we seeing the number of guests are increasing. The door seem so jammed with the counter lined with customers. Now the place look like a party and glad we were earlybird. Ani was perplexed to see this vast emptiness getting filled. Later a kind lady waiter told us the restaurants opens usually after 5 in evening. Aha! so we were unaware of its timing and they were kind enough to offer us a seat.

I seriously never ever created a full length blog for any restaurant, but this Japanese restaurant tempt me to begin with. Located in the heart of Hollywood walk of fame, one can drench themselves with the view of Hollywood Highland mall at Cho Oishi. Not much of a fan of sushi and raw meat i guess the ambiance did stole my heart and made me sit and try the green tea atleast.

I enjoy having a meal that's not rushed and I got that here. Space is wide and seats quite a lot. Never had to wait. Staff is courteous and there is always parking at Hollywood and Highland.
The servers are very nice too, and the chefs will do their best to please you. They can easily accommodate any special requests you have such as making food more or less spicy.

I especially recommend to try the Shabu-Shabu, a Japanese hotpot dish with meat and veggies that you cook at the table in a delicious steaming broth. There are very few places that make this so its a specialty of the house here.

I also recommend the shrimp fried rice with garlic, chicken gyoza and my husband also loves the sushi. Vegetable Tempura is tasty too if you are in the mood for something fried. There are many dishes to suit all different tastes.

Great with friends over a leisurely dinner, family friendly and tasty food it is a place with good value for the money.
