Hollywood stars' tour, LA
LA is never complete without the Hollywood tour and i do not mean just seeing the Hollywood emblem. Like Mumbai in India, La is the movie stars' den and you never leave without seeing the mansions and hidden house of famous celebs. As we walked along the walk of fame we came across lot of tour package and were real confused what to pick. We were offered six package from Starlinetours
-Movie locations tour
-Movies star home tour
-Movie stars home tour+beach
-Night tour
-Grand tour of LA
-Hop on hop off tour
We picked the second, Movies stars home tour and i tell you why should you pick this up too.
Movie location tour is an enclosed bus and won't take you to hill top. Same is with the Hop on Hop off bus which is a double decker bus and is not allowed on hills. Night tour i better suggest to take down your own private walk and see the lights. Since i love walking along i can skip this tour. Beach tour i ignored because i prefer driving up to the beach myself and do the people watching instead of being worried about the next bus to hop on.
To sum up the second options sound the best since it covers all of the LA's major attractions from Rodeo drive up to the hill top of Hollywood sign.
Starting from the walk of fame the mini van took us to the most amazing trip with their clean and well informative guide. The best part is the van is not enclosed and i thoroughly enjoyed the sights as the breeze blew over my face.
Crossing the Sunset Boulevard and Beverly Hills park we came to the snaky road of hills. The ride is slow and so you don't have to worry about motion sickness.
This is the last house of Michael Jackson or say he died in this house. The gate was filled with paparazzi when the whole world mourned over an immense loss. Never seen him in live im glad i came this much closer to him.
We came across other famous celeb's house including Toby Macguire. Lindslay Lohan, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's nest; and Jason Seagal from How i met your mother. The ride was bit too quick and i was too slow to catch up a good picture of each house. Still if you want to have more details of houses you can find here Beverly hills tour
If you are a Gilmore girls fan then this is the property where it was filmed.
This Los Angeles estate, Greystone was constructed in 1928 for Edward Doheny, son of an oil tycoon. The property was purchased in 1965 by the city and is now a park and historic place. The grounds are open to the public, and the mansion itself can be toured.
Keep your eyes open and look out for the Harry Potter's Castle in Universal Studio from the the top. The guide was so helpful that he stopped his van allowing us to take pics as much as we longed.
We were now nearing the real treasure of LA, The Hollywood sign! The guide again was kind enough to halt the bus for 15 mins. Everybody was quick enough to jump down and take their best pic. You must know that you need to hike up to reach the sign and the bus do not carry you there.
We adored the skyline under the setting sun and fell in love with the call of LA. The journey resumed and we drove back down to the hills to the Rodeo Drive. On the way we came across the LACMA and the famous Urban Lights. The LACMA museum isn't free but you can surely walk around the other attractions nearby like the urban lights and The Penetration in neon lime by Jesus Rafael Soto.
