Two days in Los Angeles

We had a very V day this year because it was in L.A!! The Hollywood city of California and most sough after destination for movie buffs and get tanned in the Santa Monica beach. Since it was a long weekend we decided to start the trip on Saturday morning. From our home in Walnut Creek the distance to L.A in four hours away; we preferred car ride to gossip and listen to each other's current fave song on list (a car teach you a lot ;))
Grabbing a footlong from subway on the way we were in L.A downtown by 5pm. I was all adrenaline rush to explore the city and could not wait to check in the hotel.

Dine at the Pink's
As suggested by Ani's friend we had the famous hot dogs for dinner in Pink's. The restaurant is open late till 12am with countless varieties to confuse yourself which one to pick. So we picked four with best toppings!

Walk the Hollywood walk of fame:
Taking metro from the 7th street we picked Hollywood walk of fame for the day. As guessed right it was more than crowded we could barely find our fave stars name. I could even get the feel of Times square with lights, street performers, food cart and so much happening every where.

Lunch at Cho-Oishi
We preferred Japanese cuisine in lunch at Cho Oishi. The ambiance tempt us more than the food. Though we were not that hungry we opt for something light.
Take the Skyline Hollywood Tour:
If you love to know about how and where the rich and famous live and what they spend their money on, this is the tour for you.The Hollywood Star Tour was pleasant with a friendly guide who made sure we notice the Hogwarts in progress in Universal studio as well as the Hollywood sign, the emblem of L.A!!

We get dropped safe back to the Hollywood walk of fame. Tipping the guide with satisfied smile we strolled again the pave with no plans in head.
For dinner we opt for Indian and it was very much close. The best part is you are given plate and bowl options whereby you choose two gravy. So mutually he picked one non veg and i picked veg korma single plate option. We are good in sharing plate.

Party at the Soundbar:
We never leave a new city without partying. Googling the nearby pubs we tried our luck in Soundbar. As unexpected the music were so damn good we couldn't wait grooving along. Decent and youth crowd including great drinks i don't remember when did i made so many friends.

DAY 2
Walk the Rodeo Drive:
Its day 2 already and next day we made it something light starting off with light breakfast from hotel, we drove to the Rodeo Drive where you will never mind the scorching sun. This place remind me lot more like the Lincoln road of Miami, full of shops and shoppers lined with palm trees at the road end and some amazing cars around.

Drinks coffee in Boulevard Hotel:
The last thing i wanna do was sip coffee in the Blvd hotel. Yeah the very hotel where Pretty woman was shot. I love to have the movie feel and imagining the smile of Julia Roberts wishing if she was actually here.

When he sees mirrors.
But we got lucky in other way. As we were sipping and recalling the great day spend over coffee, I spot so many rings on a person sitting behind my hubby. Familiar and artistic, I decided to take a close shot with my cam and my brain suddenly popped up with the name Johnny Depp!!!
I just yelled.' Ani, I guess that's Johnny Depp!!'

After lot of hesitations and doubt we load lot of guts to ask if he is Johnny Depp. Humble as he seems in movie he is true in his real life, he turn back politely and replied in YES!! Surprised and shocked we could not believe our damn good luck. Palms all cold and dry we raise up with a request for one dainty pic with a dainty smile.
He stood up with no second thought and i was quick to create no trouble.

What a moment. Like Mumbai is never done without a glimpse of Bollywood so is LA.
This cup of coffee was a lucky try!!
