Things to do in Monterey County

In the state of California lies a secret chamber of hidden beauties and Monterey county is one of them.
Here i will list down few of the major attractions that you should see before you die. Get yourself close to the nature and marvel at the fine creation of god. You will feel like you attained the nirvana.

I will begin from the highway 1 route, a drive that will compel you to pull over at every five minutes to witness the pacific coast.

--Pfeffiefer Big sur state park--

The Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is absolutely worth your time if you're interested in visiting a relaxing and naturally beautiful location. The park is empty and you can enjoy the views without having to feel pressured to move along so others can enjoy the view. It has two major attractions Mcway falls and the Pfeffiefer beach.

--Bixby Bridge--

44 mins ahead come the Bixby bridge or Bixby Creek bridge is another most photographed place in Big sur. It is one of the tallest single-span concrete bridges in the world. We were lucky to witness a rainbow after a light shower of rain.

A great stop off on the Journey North for us, and with great views of the ocean, and wildlife.

--Rocky creek Bridge--

Many people get it mixed up with Bixby bridge (the famous one), this one is twin span, and was built in year1932.
Beautiful bridge with amazing scenery. There is a large parking section here so more cars can stop. There are no guard rails so you have to be careful walking around to take your pictures. We stopped on the north side of the bridge and on the south side. The north side has the better close up views of the bridge. The best view from the south side is a mile or so down the road as your going around a curve. It was very windy at this point so be careful.

--Point lobos--

17 mins ahead we parked our car again. Point Lobos is a lookout point for 180 degree views and is a best hiking spot as you see the waves crashing walking along the trails. This is a lovely reserve and sometimes you can see baby otters, even seals, birthing. The docents are quite knowledgeable too.
I recommend going to China Cove (inside the reserve - it's towards the end).

--Carmel by the sea--

--Cypress tree--

15mins ahead you will be wonderstruck to witness the nature's most beloved creation. A lone cypress tree standing on the rocks for more than 250 years is worth praising.

--Asilomar--

Another interesting halt seven minutes from Spanish Bay you can stop here for white sand dunes and enjoy the sounds of crashing waves.

--Cannery row--

It's fun to walk around a little bit here, looking at the shops, get some chowder and enjoy the views. You can take a free trolley to downtown from here.
