Ponce City market Atlanta

We totally LOVE Ponce City Market and keep coming here sometime for cardamom tea, sometimes for people watching and sometimes just to walk aimlessly marveling at the tattered old building.
Ponce City Market takes its name from Ponce de Leon Springs, a popular day-trip destination for suburbanites in the 1860s. In addition to the springs, Ponce de Leon amusement park was created in the 1880s. It expanded in 1903 with rides for kids, a dance hall, theater and picnic tables. A baseball park was later added. It closed in 1924 to make way for the Sears Roebuck building. But whimsical games and rides reminiscent of the old park were incorporated into Skyline Park, Ponce City Market’s rooftop amusement park. The the old building opened as a Sears, Roebuck & Co. store in 1926.
I am VERY happy that the building is renovated and reused instead of being torn down. Not only is it a beautiful place to hang out but the market is also full of unique dining and shopping.
Ponce has well know shops such as West Elm, J Crew and Williams-Sonoma, but it also has many lesser know shops that you won't find at the average shopping mall. Archer paper goods, Binders and Citizen Supply are a few that appeal to me. One down side to this shopping center, is you have to pay for parking upon arrival. I won't suggest to come here for shopping since it is more of a dining experience here than shopping.

RESTAURANTS
When it comes to food, cuisine from all over the word is available here. There is a high-style lounge on the upper floor and a Chinese restaurant we have been to several times on the main level. For Indians it is a big call if you are yearning for Chai and Parle-g duo then Botiwalla is the ideal stop. We also loved the cuban food Mofongo and their old fashioned drink in El Super Pan.
For coffee lovers Spiller Park Coffee offers freshly brewed artisan coffee, espresso, tea, baked goods. You can get packaged ground coffee to enjoy at home.

We never leave without trying beer from The Tap on Ponce. With 44 beer taps and 12 wine taps it is one of the few places I enjoy going to in PCM. The Tap has a good variety of brews on tap, especially those from Georgia. The special thing here is you can order your size of bottle and type of beer from easy to strong. You can drink your alcoholic beverages anywhere inside of Ponce City market, which is actually a great option.
For fine dinning try the Mercury located on second floor at the corner end. Where lively rusted walls, iron door made us a welcome feel, the Hummingbird cocktail, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Crab Boulettes satiate our taste buds indeed.
ART AND CULTURE
On many occassion artist from all over Georgia exhibit their art and sculptor show, which i very much appreciate to visit. The entrance is free of cost and anyone can go in to admire the art piece.
ROOFTOP
The rooftop is on the Beltline, so there are a lot of both hipsters and tourists there welcoming adventurous kids and foodies with amazing rides, skill games and mini golfs . It definitely has a carnival atmosphere. Also, if you get a chance to go up to The Rooftop, please do so after 5 PM (at least on weekends, possibly all the time) to make the most of carnival games, restaurants, bars, and a beer garden. Not to mention it offers beautiful views of the Atlanta Skyline.
Hope you liked my post. Did i miss anything? Do share your experience too.
