St. Patrick's day, Chicago

St. Patrick's Day marking the death of most honored Saint, Patrick is worth celebrating when in Chicago. You can witness the Chicago river turning green bringing in loads of merrymakers every year together. Also watch the St. Patrick's Day Parade as it marches through the Grant Park.
While India celebrates the festival of colour Holi Chicago river gets dyed in green!!!

While my hubby had his day with his colleagues i just wait for my friends to embark the day since they always pop up with best ideas to celebrate.

Men will be men

And my friends are  finally here, my favorite the 'Mukherjee' couple! Regardless of how you celebrate we celebrated it by bar hopping. Crossing the Tribune tower and marveling at the glittering green which almost made us feel like it is spring the windy city failed to shudder us with its chilly blast.

Look what the wind did to my hair

Located behind the Marine city we start with the nearest bar House of Blues. Great interior with live music complimenting the environment. Everywhere you look there was something to admire from the soda bottles' cap engraved on walls to the false roof with famous singers' face sculpture and paintings that simply stole my heart away

Quite lively but lot crowded
(you can't blame since it is Patrick's day) people were way too polite not to push us and pass.

We hopped next to an Irish pub, Fado. Located on 100 W Grand avenue the entrance surprised me like i am boarding the Sindbad's ship. There were wine barrels lined up, hay sacks, a ship model hanging in the air with pirates stuff adorning every walls.

Here is where i had almost lost half my remaining wits. Some pics were too embarrassing to be uploaded but sure funny to look at.

Nearing the dawn and before the sun rays hit our swaying heads its time to bid good night. We had a great time and hope u guys too.

Tell us where did you celebrate your best Patrick's day.
